Dr. Vitter is a native of Ohio and a graduate of the Ohio State University, earning a B.S. in 1978 and DDS in 1981. He completed his postgraduate study in the speciality of Prosthodontics at Louisiana State University and his specialty training in Maxillofacial Prosthetics and Dental Oncology at the University of Texas Health Science Center M.D. Anderson Cancer Hospital in Houston, Texas. Dr. Vitter is one of only 350 accredited Maxillofacial Prosthodontists worldwide. Dr. Vitter is an associate professor at the LSU School of Dentistry and has maintained a full time private practice in Metairie, Louisiana for over twenty-five years.
Dr. Luis Alvarado obtained his Bachelor in Science (BS) and Doctor in Dental Science (DDS) degrees in his home country Guatemala at Universidad Francisco Marroquin in 2011. After completing dental school, he worked a year in private practice for a local prosthodontist. He decided later to continue his education on a 2-year program of Advanced Education in General Dentistry in the University of Connecticut Health Center from 2012 to 2014. Dr. Alvarado then moved to New Orleans, to specialize in Prosthodontics at Louisiana State University, where he received his Master’s degree (MSD) and Prosthodontics Certificate in 2017. As part of his academic activities, Dr. Luis Alvarado serves as part time faculty in the Prosthodontics Department at Louisiana State University. Dr. Alvarado has been involved in community service, including mission trips in Guatemala, volunteering at a community health center in Connecticut and Mission of Mercy in New Orleans. Dr. Alvarado joined Prosthodontic Specialists in July 2017 and his practice is dedicated exclusively to his specialty including Fixed, Removable and Implant Prosthodontics, Cosmetic Dentistry and Full Mouth Rehabilitations.
